You Me Support Foundation
YouMe Support and Child Trust Fund was formed in 2007, to provide high school education grants for children who would never see the inside of a high school classroom, without outside assistance. (Most of their parents live on under $1 per day. Many cannot read or write.)
Imagine if you were never allowed to go to high schol because your parents couldn't afford to send you. You would see other kids walking past your house, dressed in nice clothes, going to school. The kids we help have no way of being able to fulfill their dreams. Without education they are doomed to sit around the village with nothing to do, just watching some other kids do what they so badly want to do.
First Lady Michelle Obama says, "All people have the right to fulfill their dreams, heedless of their race or colour. Nelson Mandella said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
These statistics have changed little since 1997 in Vanuatu, voted the Happiest Country on Earth in 2006:
- 26% never got to school at all
- Only 55,8% reach year 6
- 18.2% never have the opportunity to go to high school.
Seachange Lodge in association with YouMe Support want to supply as many high school education grants as possible. This means 'adopting' children who can't help themselves. It's not just paying the school fees, its caring whether they have lunch to eat, a light to do their homework in at night, a pair of shoes on their feet.
These children will never take their rightful in the 21st century unless You help them. You can't change the world, but you can change the world for one young child. With your help YouMe Support Foundation will assist these children, through a community project. (No one else is helping them). Kids who dream of doing something with their life and have the stickability to apply themselves, once they are given the opportunitiy.
